My name is Susan Campbell. I am, in no particular order, a designer, artist, author, farmer, wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother (let’s not even mention gardener, cook and bottle washer). And I still can’t make up my mind what to be when I grow up!
I like my life and I love the people I spend it with. I think I live in paradise, a beautiful valley, near the north Norfolk coast. My home is surrounded by woods and parkland and there is a little river, and three small lakes. Plenty of design inspiration to be found on my doorstep, courtesy of Mother Nature.
About my design work -
I have a large studio, filled with yarns and fabric; and countless notebooks filled with ideas (and a head bursting with more!)
For many years I have designed and made special one-off pieces. Apart from designs fashioned in a single yarn I often combine mixtures of interesting yarns and exciting fabrics, cool linens, cottons, sumptuous silks and satins. My garments are known for their ‘wow’ factor. I also make just one exclusive wedding dress a year.
The exclusivity of my designs has, obviously, meant that the original patterns are not available for general purchase but I have now bought out a range of patterns available for everyone. These designs are certainly not run-of-the-mill, but are designed to give the knitter a chance to create an heirloom of their very own. Some of the designs may look complicated (looks can be deceptive), the patterns come with very detailed instructions, helpful hints and suggestions. The garment you create from one of my patterns, will be exclusively yours, you won’t come across another exactly the same. In the coming months many more patterns and some kits will be added to the gallery.
I hope you enjoy duplicating my patterns and wearing the garments as much as I have enjoyed designing them – just for you.
